Kelly, you can argue all you want. But, history speaks for it's self. A give here, and a give there ends up in a class out of control.
Nobody has run a 4.60 at a monthly event, yet Stock Suspension has suffered in car count! As for a 10.5 comparison, how could I not? It is living proof of a class killing itself!
Then you go on to say the class will run "maybe some 5.teens" . I'm pretty sure you were there when the class already went 5.teens. Hell, there were 5.teens run at Sunshine! I'm pretty confident that 5.0's will be reached Feburary.
Your alliances are all for fiberglass anywhere, and ladder bar cars with a weight penalty( I have PM's to prove it). They also favor slicks, so how long do you really think it will take to bastardise the class to the point of no return?
All I can say is I wish you luck. You have aligned yourselves with an orginazation that is eroding, from the inside out, and a new upstart orginazation that's not sure were to turn.
Before Real Street there was only 6.50, and Stock Suspension. We formed this class as a transition class to fill the gap. That's why I feel it's so important to keep the integrity of the class. If someone wants the thrill of running as fast as they can without any concessions then Stock Suspension is the place to go. Why would you want to beat up on a bunch baby seals, when you can qualify deep in the next class up?

old ride sold---best. 6's then she blew
Damn Randy, The way you tell it...Drag Radial/Stock Suspension is Dead, Do you really believe that? WOW!!
John Sears has rules up there in VA that are way more open then ours, They are still in the 5.0 range with 2 kits, 2 kits i tell ya...
As far as your theory on why drag radial & 10.5 are dead...i will bet that the economy is keeping most of the cars on the side lines, now everyone is just going to save up and run the big events like ortc
I don't think it is dead, I think it is dying. Donald, even had to add rules to keep it competitive!
Play your cards as you see fit. Local racing is what our class is for, it has to survive the economy. Like you said "everyone is just going to save up and run the big events like ortc". So, stay home and a save up, while us poor bastards race all year.

I think you missed my point Kelly. It's not that I think the class is dead. I love the class, it's that the class is far from what it started out to be! It has also reached the point were the average guy has no chance. I don't think even you can deny that. Just imagine what the Sunshine turn out would be if the regular number 1 qualifier was in the 4.6's?
Now you want to jump on a class that is on the exact same path, and you wonder why I'm skeptical? Hell, you can't even afford to run in "our" class, nor can most of your boys. I'm not taking a cheap shot here, I can't either. My point is you of all people should understand the need for an affordable class. Yet, you blindly promote something that is well out of your budget?
