lets bring back the old 275 class
By saying that i think the class should go back to when we first started the realstreet class and have the rules where the single bar plate and 275s would be the limiting factor, the way the rules are now,i am at a disadvantage with my 377 and TFS-R heads weighing in at 3100 lbs, with a 93 jet i still cant compete with guys running 98 jets and 434 ci, so lets open it up again and let the racing begin the way it started that way if somebody is down on power they have the option to seek a biger jet and try to be competitive ,it just sucks having a small motor and wanting to run in realstreet, i think if the rules were opened up it would be for better racing and if it did get out of hand you could put a jet cap that everybody has to run,or put a jet cap to start with,so saying this what do you say guys? i know a lot of racers are not happy with the rules as they stand so speek up and lets here it!

Bobby, you have already gone a 5.50 flat on an .082 jet at 3100lbs. Swap in the .093 jet, remove 50lbs., and see what the car will run.
I'm not 100% sure Mike's car will ever be the quickest car in the class on a .093 jet (that 5.31 Howard threw up at Sunshine was strong) but we are going to work at it until we hit the ceiling. If we are still out-gunned after that, we'll make a decision to either step up or step out. Come back out and give it another try with the larger jet and less weight.

Does that VMP 275 series up in the Virgina area have this many rules for their class? The one that John Sears is part of? Don't they have minimal rules and still get 10 - 12 cars / trucks per race? It just seems that all of these rules for all different combos in Florida's Real Street are going to be hard to enforce, if anyone is even checking and enforcing.

they also allow foggers up there (VA) cause a lot of cars had them allready. not that I would advocate for them

No, I'm just sayin' that, just I think their rules are a lot less complicated and they still get some pretty good car counts. Do they limit jet sizes on all various head combinations? I think they just have some weights, a few restrictions, and then run it. I'm not saying copy their rules, but c'mon they only have a few rules and a lot less people complaining about them and still some decent car counts. I can say as a sponsor, it's kind of discouraging to see half the guys that race in a series we sponsor always arguing about rules and crap.

I would also agree we should all park the race cars and go boating on race day! Much cooler, less expensive, hot half naked chics, cold beer, and everbody would get along with no rule bickering!

Well with the latest rules from the heavily promoted UORS does anyone think that a united set needs to be out there for the class? Allow for the BB and the Buick/Olds/Pontiac stuff in addition to the blown and boosted combos which may wind up in there in the future.
Just thinking out loud. |
