A unified and uniform set of rules would be a "huge" step in the right direction; establish base weights with no restrictions other than design of the Plate/Blower/Turbo and let em eat. I think you would see some class crossover occur and a stronger movement take place. Everyone would know what to expect and when someone gets out front (which they will) you know what you need to do to get there. In my opinion, this needs to be given some serious thought...

I agree. I mean, with all these jet restrictions per various head design, who's policing this? Was anyones jets checked at the last Sunshine race? Were weights enforced? The rules just look confusing with all the different weight +'s and -'s, .073, .082, .093, small solenoids, 15 - 18 degree, canted heads get this or don't get that, etc... Look at the VMP rules but find a way to keep boosted combo's in, big blocks in, but keep it simple.

Yes, Joe and I checked all jets and teched every car. Weights were applied to the windshield and every car crossed the scales. Also I teched Howard Spires Immediately after he won and Joe teched Rick.

This is what I posted over at the UORS Website as my input for their rules and I know Eric had input also with them.

I hope you guys and gals don't mind I bolded some stuff that may keep some folks out and looked at weights other class that are like this run. What do you think?

Ultimate Street

Class Description

Ultimate Street is a heads-up class designed for any passenger vehicle from any major manufacturer. Ultimate street cars may be powered by small blocks only and are limited to a maximum cubic inch limit of 440 cubic inches. Power adders are limited to a single nitrous plate utilizing One nitrous solenoid, One fuel solenoid, One purge solenoid ONLY. [b[ See current Real Street Rules for Turbos and superchargers (for sizes)[/b] No alcohol or nitro allowed. Purge must be redundant inline with nitrous supply line with only one supply line.

Body

Fiberglass / Carbon body panels are limited to hood, rear deck lid, and bumpers. Cowl hoods may not be taller than the half-way point of the windshield. Forward facing hood scoops are prohibited unless equipped from the factory, in which case the factory hood must be utilized. Front and rear spoilers & wings are allowed. Sheet metal / “Pro Stock” style wings are prohibited.this rule eliminates alot of cars No full fiberglass / carbon bodies allowed unless equipped from the factory. Stock firewall must be retained in the stock location. Firewall may be notched for clearance and/or smoothed for appearance. All entries must have operational headlights and taillights and must retain the stock grill. Full factory floor pans are required but may be notched for roll bars, sub frames, etc. Stock core support(this may hurt a few also) and inner fender wells are required but may be notched for clearance.

Interior

All cars are required to have a stock dash & dash pad, steering column, door panels, and carpet. The rear seat may be removed but area must be upholstered. Dash may be notched for roll bar clearance. Factory glass is required. NO LEXAN. Exception: Trucks may replace rear window with lexan to allow for roll bar. Nitrous bottles are not allowed in the passenger compartment & must be located in the trunk or truck bed.lexan should be allowed as long as it's tastefully installed and clear and the bottle rule is kind of dated and it's just plain easier to service the bottles up front

Electrical
Optical devices prohibited and progressive controllers are prohibited (unless on the 275 radial tire).

Engine

After Market blocks and cylinder heads are allowed. Sheet metal intakes are prohibited. Intakes must be cast. Entries may only utilize a single carburetor only. Motor plates and solid mounts are allowed. Engine must be in the stock location. Mufflers are required on all vehicles except turbos. Entries must utilize a single nitrous plate with One Nitrous, One Fuel, and One Redundant Purge solenoid. Foggers but must disconnected and ALL solenoids must be capped off. See Flroida Real Street Turbochargers and superchargers rules Progressive controllers are not allowed unless running the 275 Radial. Nitrous plates using fogger nozzles are no allowed. All Ultimate street entries are required to use an engine diaper.

Transmission

Any OEM style automatic or OEM manual transmission is allowed. Manual transmission must utilize an SFI approved bell-housing.

Rear Suspension

Stock type rear suspension only. Stock rear frame rails must remain intact. Minor notching of frame rails is allowed for tire clearance. Bolt on traction devices only. Coil over shocks are allowed. Factory length torque arms are allowed. Aftermarket replacement control arms are allowed. Rear control arm mounting points must remain in stock location on the stock frame rail. Mini tubs are permitted. Electric shocks are prohibited.

A maximum of a 28 x 10.5 Non-W slick or 275 Radial may be used. Wheel width is limited to 12”.

Weights

Minimum wt 20 to 23 degree – 3000 lbs.

All heads 19.9 and under – 3100 lbs.

All heads 17.9 and under -3200 lbs.

Any canted valve head – 3300 lbs.

Sponsorship Decals & Lettering

Decals and lettering is restricted to windows, quarter panel’s front bumper and from hood scoop. All cars required to have identifying number posted on front and rear windows.

Maybe BB at 3350 with the peanut solenoid and a 73 nitrous jet on 275's

And use Florida Real Street BOP Rules.

This would get you guys more in line with ORSCA M/S and UORS Unlimited

We have a good set of Rules now...I think we could look at everyone's overall combo and figure out which Jet & Weight those cars need to be under to keep the class competitive and have close racing, We know what cars needs to be in what catagory based off the Cylinder Heads and ET's they are running...We know who goes where!! Just a Thought.

I would like to see some of you guys make a lists and see if we can all get on the same page...

We can make it Unlimited Jet for you guys @3000#...Just throwing out some ideas, Nobody is responding so i guess this would be the wrong direction, I know everybody wants there .093 jet - .098 jet...But all that did was put a bigger gap between the 2 sides, it didn't close the gap and slow the class down like every one is saying they want...We got to figure out something quick because we wont ever be the "ONLY" car at the race on a .082 jet again!
