I think these are workable for sure. The only thing that I dont like is the weight, but I dont think its a bad idea because it seems like they a shooting for more "stock" type cars.

Sheet metal / “Pro Stock” style wings are prohibited.
Keeps us out. Too bad, cause I don't think there is any performance advantage having one.

I agree, especially in 1/8 mile. Can't you remove the wing just for these races, or is that a PITA?
These rules look very similar now to the current ORSCA Modified Street Rules. Radials can use a progressive with only a single cross-bar plate. Slicks can use a double cross-bar plate but no progressive. |

why don't you guys juts take them off then ?? serious question. if you feel there is no advantage why have it, you are only going 130 or just a little more in the 1/8th ?

For the most part, the sheet metal wings are attached with fixed fasteners to the deck lid and would have to be drilled out for the wing to be removed and then re-installed at a later date. I agree, they really serve no purpose in the 1/8th mile format so why is it such an issue to have them on the car? Same goes for the interior agenda within Modified Street and this class seems to be following suit, I like the rules but once again we will have to pass based upon specifications that really have no value on performance gains.

From what I have heard its because they are looking for "street" type cars because thats what the fans like. I like the idea but wont comply.
