DAVE LOOK ASAP!!!
Hey dave my brother is looking at buying this notchback, but its all the way in naples...he wants to know if it could take a 200 shot...seems like the internals can hold it up all day but i remember you talking about how the block can only take 6-700hp, the guy says it makes 400hp on motor so would it be safe???

Whats up Jay, this is Matt. That looks like a clean car and a great price. 400hp at the motor seems about right for the mods that it has on. I don't think a 200 shot should be a problem. Best thing to do is to strap it down to the dyno and start with a smaller shot and work up from there. The power that is getting to the ground through that aod is probably around the 310-330 range and with a 200 shoot it will give you around 500, which will put you at around 600 flywheel hp. I agree with Dave and would not take a stock 302 block much higher than that level.
I wish the car was closer, I would go down there with you and check the car out. If you have anymore questions just give one of us a call.

I am not so sure we would want to put a 200 shot on it. Your really pushing the limits. I would say 100. The stock 302 blocks are not the strongest. But a lot of it depends on how it was built. Which we don't know due to the fact we didn't build it. Your rolling the dice with the stock block when you get into these numbers. I have seen stock blocks crack at 400 and then I have seen blocks get up into the 600's.
How lucky you feeling? Lol.
