Here is the video of my car from the Fast Friday at Sunshine Dragstrip on Aug 21st. I left the tune the same as last months outing. I did change the rear springs in hope of lowering the car but it sits the same. Thanks to fat Rat 70 for giving them to me. They were a little shorter so I guess they are a bit stiffer.
On the first pass the car went to the left a bit and got a little squirrelly down track so I lifted. Lately my 60’s have been mid/low 1.4’s, my old best was a 1.40 flat and 6.25 @ 111 (which were not on the same pass)
60’ 1.385
330’ 3.963
1/8 6.248 @ 100.34
For pass 2 I had Darren (the guy with the Vega in the vid) help me adjust the anti roll bar to neutral to see if that would help it straighten out. It did
60’ 1.367
330’ 3.944
1/8th 6.146 @ 111
best pass ever ^^

On the third hit I switched the nitrous over to the Steve Johnson tune up and solenoids. (leaner) same timing and fuel pressure. It seemed to hit harder and spun the tires and went right. It was hugging the right side and would not steer. I lifted and got back in but the car veered and I got out of the throttle again and wound up in the other lane just passed the lights. When I was going up for my next run found low air in the passenger side slick. I do not know how this happened as it’s ok now. But that explains the hairy out of shape pass. After watching the vid in slo mo so does the fact i turned it that way as soon as I left. (doh!?) I also acquired a noise in the trans ( I think) which I had thought was a muffler coming apart previously so we put it on the trailer.
60’ 1.455
330’ 4.074
1/8th 6.383 @ 98
I will be getting TRZ control arms for the front soon, not sure when they will go in. From what I see in the vid I need to tighten up the compression in the rear shocks, also I am pretty sure it’s driving through the converter as the shift light is staying on basically the whole track, though it may be something in the trans, or both.
Right now I am pretty happy with how the car is running as it’s running up to and a little better that I had expected.
Big thanks to TRZ Motorsports, Induction Solutions and Scotty Blakeny @ SPE carbs, Scotty fixed up the idle on my carb which has given me a better response and allowed me to leave at a lower RPM
